AKissForJersey/Kenoma/Godspeed You! Black Emperor/Ictus/Death Cab For Cutie

Victims-I Have to say, quite a unique release. My brother got me into this band, and i thank him. This band has amazing talent; infusing post-hardcore with pop, metalcore, and dischordic mathcore (but only in the right amounts). Devices (the opening track) is the most remarkable vocal range i have ever heard on a man. His range dips to regular tones and then jumps to a high c note practically. Great christian men, with a beautiful sound and message. Recomended to fans of: Emery, Amen. The Animal, UnderOath (they're only chasing safety era). Overall Rating: 9.9/10
Mouth Of The Architect/Kenoma-Although i didn't listen to, or like in general, Mouth Of The Architect, the release was great because of Kenoma. Kenoma is a great Melodic atmospheric sludge band from the dirty state of Ohio. The band puts on a good act for only 2 songs. I, personally, look forward to seeing a full release from this band so that i don't have to buy a cd, knowing that i hate the other band. Recomended for fans of: Irreversible, Pelican, Burn Down Rome. Overall Rating: 7/10
F#A#∞-Godspeed, o' godspeed. The arbiters of post-rock. Not my favorite release. But the CD holds great tracks, and beautiful harmonies. Talented guitar and drums, and movie quotes and people speaking. This album is basically american culture (although the band is canadian hahaha). Recomended for fans of: Sigur Ros and Radiohead. Overall Rating: 7/10
Imperivm-One Track, 40 minutes or intense Crust Punk/Death Metal. The most nonconforming genre, and one of the oddest. There are only 2 bands on record i know of that are of this "crust-death-punk" genre: Ictus and Asedio; and they're both from Spain. Great country huh?! Recomended to fans of: Asedio and Suicidal Tendencies. Overall Rating: 9.7/10
Something About Airplanes-Not the best of DCFC's releases, but certainly not the worst. It keeps itself going through the whole album. What i mean by that, is that it doesn't die out and pick back up. The band certainly changed through the era's of their releases. something about airplanes-era was their conversion of pop-punk to alternative indie rock. It is ok, but it leads into stuff that was better, but then later after that, turned to garbage. Recomended to fans of: the shins. Overall rating: 6/10

The Locust - Discography

I have to say, i hate Power Violence/Spazcore. This band when i listened to the first couple times, i oddly liked them. Now that i have dealt with them for about a month or so, i see no reason in listening to their music anymore. People who think this music is good, probably have a beehive up their ass. Reccomended to fans of: Tower Of Rome, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, Heavy Heavy Low Low, The Daughters, Pyramids. Overall Rating: 0.2/10

Undivided/U.K./For The Fallen Dreams/Zao

Undivided - My sister's godfather Tom introduced me to his friend Rob Moschetti's main band. Since, he has supposedly left. The band puts on an amazing live show, and i'm going to miss their live performances with such power. The band is a good example of crossover thrash/groove. One of the only thrash bands i like. It is heavily hardcore and death metal influenced. If you know the members, you can always get their material for free. Recomended for fans of: Merauder and Full Scale Riot. Overall Rating: 8/10
U.K. - A great, unheard of, supergroup with people who were in bands like asia, frank zappa and the mothers of invention, and steve vai. This CD is the best example of 80's prog-rock. Although they use the same lyrics for the first 3 songs, it still comes out amazingly good. My ex-girlfriend's father lent me the CD, and i am greatful he let me borrow it. Recomended for fans of: Emerson, Lake, And Palmer, Asia, Frank Zappa, Terry Bozio, Steve Vai. Overall Rating: 9.8/10
Changes - One of the best releases ever! Hard hitting melodic metalcore/hardcore. The best intro to an album with the song "Brothers In Arms" where the singer yells "Where were you, when i needed you!" The band is a new wave of undescribable post metalcore/hardcore/metalcore/deathcore. Recomended to fans of: Destroy The Runner and And If She Dies. Overall Rating: 20/10
The Funeral Of God - Best of all the zao releases. Great Raw Metalcore with grindy hardcore influence. The heaviest of zao's experimentations. Although there are none of the original members left in the band since probably 1998, the band is better this way. Recomended to fans of: Daughters, The Locust, Converge, Norma Jean. Overall Rating: 9.4/10
