Solipsist-A Guideline to Insanity in 5 Easy Steps/ Rosecrance-Rosecrance EP

This band is extremely underground from the depths of belgium. They only released this one demo and then parted ways joining bands like: Body of Christ, Apocryph, Culpable Homicide, and Prejudice. This demo has excellent sound quality for a demo. The only thing i look down upon is that the vocals sound very resembling to Death and Dismember. If they had another release i would defenitely give this album a better rating. But none the less, this is the only Melodic Death Metal band i really like. Overall Rating: 7.9/10
This EP is probably one of my favorites. This is from a band that started out as an emocore band in illinois titled DiminisheD. After a while they became heavier with more death metal and metalcore influence and changed their name to YourHeartEngraved. After a while they changed their name to be their official name to release an album on. They stuck with the name Rosecrance for a while. The music is extremely progressive, Egyptian influenced, and deathcore influenced. The lyrics to the songs are about empires, egypt, and various subjects (downsyndrome, crayons, love, inner struggles). This ep is really cultural, with rap, deathcore, progcore, emo, screamo, all intertwined together in a blender + a kick in the balls and you get rosecrance. It sucks that again they had to change their name once they signed to sumerian records. The name of the band was named after the Rosecrance mental institute and Rosecrance institute did not want a band named after them, so they changed their name ultimately to Born of Osiris and are one of the most popular bands in the deathcore scene (along with impending doom, the faceless, the agony scene, etc.) the old material and the new material is all mad good, ive been friends with them since 2004, nice guys.
