Like an ever flowing stream
As I become one with the earth
By soul has passed the rebirth
In this world I leave my flesh to rot
No regrets, this is my lot
Ashes to ashes
Dust to death
Dark recollections of my past life
Memories haunt me in black'n white
Divine death now descends
Burning as my existence ends
In death I will sleep
Floating deep
From dying heaven
To living hell
Witness only what the dead shall see
Walk among the dead
As my body's still on my death bed

Dismember hasn't always been the best at writing such great lyrics. Most death metal doesn't usually have such eloquency in lyrics. Majority of music in this style sing about gore, brutality, being metal, raping, torture, etc. Dismember is one of the most popular death metal bands (2nd to Death) but the writing great poems. The first line really speaks to me "From Dream to Dream we have always been like an ever flowing stream." These are spoken at the beginning of the song and are very deep. It makes you think. Every day you've lived has flowed like an ever flowing stream. There would be a few proverbial waterfalls (problems and strife) and this ever flowing stream will eventually come to an and whether it be from a dying heaven to a living hell. To me it feels like they used that line "From dying heaven to living hell" because thats what has been happening. More and more people are sinning and not asking for forgiveness. This group is nowhere near christian (blomqvist wear's an inverted crucifix on the old album insert pictures) but they defenitely know philosophy and spirituality.
Thanks to metal archives for the lyrics.
