People look at Darkest Hour as metalcore due to the fact they are on Victory Records. But there is more to them. This was recorded in Gothenburg Sweden, a city which invented a genre called Gothenburg which is mainly this specific sounding melodic death metal coming from the region. (Same goes for other swedish city Stockholm). Darkest Hour pulls thrash, death, metalcore, hardcore, punk, melodic death, and other elements all together in this album. The ending 3 tracks and their song Oklahoma reign supreme over all the others resounding the most in my mind. Overall Rating: 8.8/10
Simply put: Shitty recording quality of a mediocre deathcore/melodic metalcore album with a few good breakdowns. Overall Rating: 3.4/10
